Akiva Update — A Good Evening, a Bath, and Time in the Backyard

Akiva had a good evening, he had a bath and did well.  We enjoyed some time in the back yard this afternoon, there was very nice weather again today.  I made some pulled BBQ pork for dinner.

I discovered that Akiva was quite interested in eating cooked meat.  His appetite has been reduced and it has been hard to get him to eat enough these past couple weeks.  So we will try cooking some meat for him tomorrow and see how he does with that.  He was soo excited to get the cooked pork tonight – he ate that better than anything I have seen him eat in over 2 weeks now.  So we may be making some more cooked pork.

The plan is tomorrow (Wednesday)  to try a higher dose of the antibiotic and see if he responds to that.  It may also help a lot if I can get him to eat more by feeding him some cooked food.  He normally loves his raw food, but since he has been ill, he has not been very interested most raw items that are offered.  I didn’t think of him being interested in eating cooked meat until today.  I don’t know how much of it he will eat, but at least it is something he was excited about.  I’ll let you know tomorrow how much cooked meat Akiva manages to eat.
