Electrical Example Videos — Junction Boxes and Recessed Lighting Basics

⚠ Safety note: I am not a licensed electrician. This post shares my own DIY experience for general information only. Home electrical work is hazardous and is governed by local code. Always shut off power at the breaker and confirm it is off before touching any wires, follow the codes that apply where you live, and when in doubt, hire a licensed electrician.

This post originally had two short example videos of electrical work — one of a large junction box and one of standard recessed lighting going in. The originals were hosted on Picasa Web Albums, which Google shut down. I recovered the recessed lighting video from the original footage, so that one is restored below. The junction box video (MOV006) is still missing.

Standard recessed lighting — installation overview:

This clip shows a recessed (can) light fixture going into a ceiling — the housing, the electrical box, the adjustment rails, and the wiring hookup. A real example of how a standard recessed light goes in.
