A close-up of the gorgeous red leaves on one of my Japanese maples, still wet with raindrops. I just love this deep, rich burgundy color — the way the water beads up on those delicate, star-shaped leaves makes them look even more vivid. Japanese maples put on a wonderful show, and this one’s foliage is about as pretty as it gets. Little moments like this are exactly why I love the garden.
