What Can You Grow in Wisconsin in Two Years?
What can you grow in Wisconsin in 2 years? Quite a lot, as it turns out. These photos were taken two years apart, almost to the minute — 6/26/2009 and 6/26/2011.
The difference is striking. What started as sparse young plantings against the house filled in into an established garden. A little patience in the garden pays off.

? When can you plant where you live?
I built a free little tool for exactly this question — The Garden Almanac. Type in your ZIP code and it gives you your USDA hardiness zone, your average last and first frost dates, and a planting calendar tuned to your spot — when to start seeds, set out transplants, and sow. It runs right in your browser, no account needed. Find your frost dates & planting calendar →
