First Snowfall of the Season — November 9, 2011 in Neenah

As I post this early on the morning of the 10th, the ground is covered with cold wet slop. About 1 to 2 inches of wet heavy snow fell today. It seemed rather sudden considering how nice of weather we have had. One month ago we had days that were about 80. Tonight is a low of 27.

The photo to the right was taken at 4:09 this afternoon (yesterday 10-9-11) from my side door.

I still have a couple house plants in the garage that I need to move in and I need to start watering more of the ones I already have inside.

Overall we had a very nice summer here, it was pretty long too. Keeping the plants outside with our first hard frost having been around oct 23rd is good for Wisconsin.

I’m sure this snow will melt soon, it is going to warm up again. I hope it isn’t super cold this year at Thanksgiving. I remember it getting to 13 degrees on Thanksgiving evening last year. I rushed to get some of my more sensetive bonsai trees into the garage that evening. Some of them did well, but others didn’t make it (likely due to other reasons).

ImageAs I see the first snow fall, I can’t comprehend how the summer went by so quickly for me. I have spent a lot of time on the Paw Dogs stuff including facebook for Aug, Sept, Oct, and now Nov. We spent time working with Kayce in early Oct (5th to 10th), already a month ago today (10th) that she went back.

I still have the tropical plants left to bring in, and other stuff to go into the plant room, not as bad a last year, we got a lot of new plants this year, but they are fairly organized being in the plant trays in the driveway. Garage is fairly cleared out, just a handful of things to deal with.

Akiva and Vasco are doing well. Akiva headed to bed a few minutes ago and I think Vasco is waiting for me in the Kitchen.

Goodnight.
