Getting the Lights on the Christmas Tree — 2011
Got the lights on the Christmas tree last night, and it looks really nice. It’s a bigger tree than we’ve had in a few years — took four strings of lights to cover it, and I had to dig back into the holiday bins for that fourth strand right when I thought I was done.
There’s something satisfying about that first night with the tree lit up. Turn off the overhead lights, sit back in the glow, and it’s worth all the wrestling with cords and prickly branches. Starting to feel like Christmas around here.
Ornaments are next, but for now I’m happy just enjoying the lights.
