Vasco in the Tonka Truck — A Classic Photo from His Puppy Days in 2004

Vasco has apparently always had a thing for Tonka trucks. Way back in 2004, when he was just a tiny puppy, I had this old classic metal Tonka dump truck — the kind built to last, clearly well-loved, with that durable painted steel look. He fit perfectly in the back and just sat there like he owned it. Naturally, I took photos.

Fast forward to October 2016, and somehow the original truck had gone missing over the years. I spotted a replacement at the thrift store — a newer plastic version, still bright yellow, still a Tonka. So I put 12-year-old Vasco in the back for the comparison shot. He had that look on his face like “Yes, I still fit. Are we done here?” Same dog, different truck, twelve years apart. He was wearing his red bandana coat and somehow still perfectly sized for the Tonka bed.
