Akiva over the years – various photos

Akiva has been with me for a long time, and going through the photos from over the years always brings up a lot of good memories. He’s been there for everything — the apartment years, the early blog days, countless walks and car rides and naps on the couch. That photo of young me hugging him in the backyard might actually be one of my favorite pictures we have together.

By the time we started using the pet stroller for walks, he’d earned every bit of the royal treatment. He always looked completely at ease in it, just taking in the scenery from his seat by the water. In his prime he loved running the yard and sharing the lawn chair with Vasco; in his later years he was perfectly happy to ride in style.

Here he is in his prime, doing one of his favorite things in the world: flopping onto his back for a good roll right in the middle of the driveway, wriggling around in the sun without a care in the world.
