Final Menasha Farmers Market of 2018

Every season has to end sometime, and this was the final Menasha Farmers Market of 2018, on a crisp, colorful day at the end of October. Back then the market was held downtown by the Menasha marina, right across from Parker John’s BBQ.

Karen and my friend Valerie got into the Halloween spirit with their costumes, Valerie all done up in a bonnet and apron. They stopped to pose at Jim’s Produce, the same Appleton grower I always make a point to visit at the Neenah market, his stand piled high with tomatoes, honey, and the last produce of the year, with the maples behind them glowing bright orange.

I got into the spirit too, sporting my finest jack-o’-lantern hard hat for the walk. We are lucky to have such good local growers, and we always tried to support them right up to the last day of the season. See you next year.

Have you been there? I'd love to hear your favorite spot.
