Terms of Service

Welcome to QUINT, a free daily word game published at jamiedolan.com/games/quint/ and operated by Jamie Dolan ("we," "us"). By playing the game or creating an account, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the game.

1. The game is free

QUINT is provided free of charge for personal entertainment. There is no purchase, subscription, or payment of any kind. We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we may stop offering the game entirely without notice.

2. Accounts

• You may play as a guest without an account. Creating an account is optional and only serves to save your statistics across devices.
• When you register, you agree to provide a real email address and accurate information.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• One person should not maintain multiple accounts to manipulate statistics or leaderboards.
• Service communications: by holding an account you agree that we may occasionally email you important announcements about the game itself — for example a security notice, a service interruption, or a major change to how the game works. These are sent rarely and are part of operating the service. Optional extras like daily reminders are separate: they require your opt-in and always include a one-click unsubscribe link. 3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to access the answer list, cheat, or use automated tools to play or to extract data.
• Interfere with, overload, probe, or attempt to breach the game's servers or security.
• Use the game for any unlawful purpose or to harass others.
• Reverse engineer or copy the game to pass it off as your own.

We may suspend or delete any account that violates these terms, at our discretion.

4. Fair play and statistics

Game statistics, streaks, and leaderboard standings are provided for fun. We make a reasonable effort to keep them accurate but do not guarantee them, and we may reset or adjust them — for example, to correct errors or remove cheating. Statistics have no monetary value.

5. Intellectual property and originality

The QUINT name, design, code, and graphics are owned by Jamie Dolan. You may share your daily result grid and link to the game freely. You may not copy or redistribute the game's code or assets without permission.

QUINT is an original, independently created game. Its visual identity (the electric-cyan/hot-magenta color language, angled tile design, and 🟦🟪⚡⬛ share grid), its game modes — including the daily Live Wire ⚡ bonus tile and the weekend-only Glitch Protocol 🌀 — its word list, definitions, and social systems were all designed and built for QUINT. They are described in full on the About QUINT page. Word-guessing puzzles are a long-standing game genre; QUINT is an independent entry in that genre and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Wordle, The New York Times Company, or any other word game.

6. No warranty

The game is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. You use the game at your own risk.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jamie Dolan will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the game. Because the game is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to zero dollars (US$0).

8. Privacy

Your use of the game is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect and how it is handled. Please review it.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the game after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
