๐ Privacy & your photos

The short version: your photo never leaves your device. Everything โ reading the hidden metadata, showing it, and stripping it โ happens with JavaScript on this page. There is no upload, no account, no server, and no analytics. You can turn off your internet connection and the tool still works.
What the tool does with your photo
- When you drop, choose, or paste a photo, your browser reads its bytes locally into memory. They are never transmitted anywhere.
- The metadata you see โ camera, settings, GPS, XMP, IPTC, the embedded thumbnail โ is decoded right here on the page.
- When you scrub, the cleaned copy is built in your browser and offered to you as a normal download. The original and the copy both stay on your machine.
- Nothing is stored. Reload or close the tab and it's all gone โ there's no history kept.
The one optional network request
If a photo contains GPS coordinates, the tool shows a "View on OpenStreetMap" link. That link is the only thing on the page that can reach the internet, and only if you click it. Clicking it opens a map for those coordinates on openstreetmap.org โ it sends the coordinates, never your photo. If you'd rather not, use "Copy coordinates" instead, or just scrub the file.
What this tool never does
- No upload of your image, ever. There is no server to upload to.
- No account, no login, no cookies.
- No advertising, no analytics, no third-party trackers on this page.
- Your photo is never uploaded to any server or outside service.
