Dog of The Day for 2/16/2012 — Sable
Our Dog of the Day for 2/16/2012 is Sable, a sweet and playful Shih Tzu.
“Sable is very sweet. She loves to play. When it’s time to settle down, she flips over on her back to get her tummy itched. She is very loving.”
Sable has a beautifully clear communication system: when she is done playing and ready for the next phase of the evening, she simply flips over onto her back. The message is unambiguous. Tummy scratches, please. It is an elegant solution — no barking, no pawing, just an unmistakable upside-down Shih Tzu waiting patiently for what she knows is coming. This kind of cheerful, gentle communication is exactly what makes these dogs such wonderful companions. Sable sounds like a dog who is expressive, affectionate, and completely comfortable in her own skin — or in this case, comfortable on her back. Sweet, playful, and very loving: that is a beautiful description of a dog who has found her perfect home. Please give Sable a like and share her today. Does your dog have a signature “pet me” move? Tell us about it in the comments!
Flipping over for a tummy rub — Sable knows exactly how to communicate what she wants! Thanks for sharing her.
