Dog of the Day – 1/10/2012
“Mickey and I have been together for about 3 years now. Mickey is such a sweet boy — he was so shy and skittish when he first came here, but I think that was a result of his previous life. Mickey loves everyone he sees and has the sweetest face. He helps me take care of his sister Pebbles, the Pug-huahua.”
Mickey’s transformation from shy and skittish to sweet and social is one of the most rewarding stories we see with rescue and rehomed dogs. Whatever his previous life looked like, it left him cautious — but three years of patient love completely changed that. Now he loves everyone he sees and actively helps care for his Pug-huahua sister Pebbles, which speaks to a depth of heart that is truly touching. There is something profound about a dog who was once afraid of the world becoming someone who radiates warmth to everyone around him. Mickey’s face in these photos has that unmistakable quality of a deeply loved and contented dog. His owner’s pride in him comes through in every word of that description. We are so grateful this sweet boy found his person, and that his person shared him with us today. Give Mickey a like and share his story!
